One important detail to keep in mind is timing. The coating should be applied within 24–48 hours before launch. If it remains exposed to air for longer, the biocides can begin to lose their effectiveness before the yacht even enters the water.

Two-part polyurethane systems offer the best UV resistance and gloss retention for these conditions. They are demanding to apply correctly, but the finish lasts.
